Wow what a fast week!!!

Sometimes I just can't believe how fast the weeks go! After emailing last week we went down to Lubbock to switch back from our exchange. We first went to the Robison's to help clean up their Christmas decorations. They fed us too ha! But before we headed down to Lubbock, Elder Jones and I stopped by this house we had knocked the day before. This house had big dead rats on their lawn so we grabbed one ha! (no I didn't actually touch it!) When we got down to Lubbock we tried all the other cars of the missionaries but only the assistant's truck was unlocked so we put it on the floor of their truck! Ha ya'll shoulda seen their faces when they opened the truck!!! hahah They could smell it instantly but it took them a minute or two to find out what it was! Ha it was a priceless prank!! We finished off the p-day by playing volleyball at the stake center.
Friday was mostly spent preparing for Saturday. We met with the branch mission leader, Sabastion's family, and all our investigators to prep for the baptism on Saturday. The baptism was great! Sabastion and Gordo were baptized and we had about 6 investigators there! I was even asked to give a talk on baptism and that was a first for on my mission! The only other baptism I've spoken at was Travis Jolley a few years back!!! On Sunday they both got confirmed! This Sunday Sabastion, Isaac Porras, and Troy Velasquez (a less-active we've been working with) will all be getting the Aaronic priesthood and will be deacons!!!! That increases the deacon's quorum times 4!!!
On Monday we went down to Lubbock and I did my first baptismal interview for a man named Ray. It went really well and he'll be getting baptized on Saturday! We spent the night in Lubbock and had district meeting the next day. I instructed on extending commitments, promising blessings, and following-up! It went really well I think. Then I went on an exchange with the companionship of missionaries in my district who are struggling. They just don't get it. They go through the motions but don't seem to care. They are more of workers than servants I guess you could say. Extra responsibility comes with extra blessings and I am grateful for that!
Well, I finished the Book of Mormon on Monday! That means it took me 26 days but there were a lot of days I didn't even have time to read! It was great though! All the things you learn by reading it in a shorter period of time!
Tuesday was a special day: my one year anniversary of landing here in Texas!!! Kinda hard to believe!!! Jason is doing great and he's really working on getting an answer that the church is true and he needs to get baptized. Just a matter of time now!!!
I think that's about it from this week! Still working hard and trying to stay warm, even though it's hard to when you wake up and it's about 40 degrees in your apartment!!!! We're working on getting that fixed haha!!! Stay warm and pray and read every day. If you don't, then Heavenly Father can't give you those blessings!
Love,
Elder Nix
